Don't
Be a Litterbug (Hold up a paper carton or other pieces of litter.) This month we've been talking a lot about conservation of natural resources, and next week on our 3ampout we're going to tackle some conservation work in the woods. But one thing we can all do every day to help with conservation is to avoid throwing litter lround. (Toss litter in wastebasket.) I'm not saying ;hat if we avoid littering, a tree will grow better )1' a wild creature will benefit. But we will, because 1 clean environment looks a lot better and it will ~ncourage us to do some real conservation work. An awful lot of people are litterbugs. They think lothing of tossing cans, bottles, cartons, and other unk onto the ground wherever they go. It's a dis;usting habit and one I hope none of you has or will ~ver get. As Scouts, we should live by the Outdoor Code md be clean in our outdoor manners. That means Me never throw litter on the trail and we always eave our campsites better than we found them. Let's try to remember that all the time, not just Mhen wfire outdoors with the troop. |
