Scoutmaster: You have been selected to serve as patrol leader because of the your work in the troop. You have been trained by the officers of the troop to help you conduct your patrol meetings, so it your Scouts will benefit from your Scouting experience. Your work has been done well. I know this troop will serve its members better because you are one of the patrol leaders. Scouting does not pay you for this service, but the satisfaction of seeing Scouts grow into strong, upright men will be greater than any other reward could be. You now repeat the Patrol leader's promise.
Patrol Leader: I promise to do my best to be worthy
of my office as patrol leader, for the sake of my fellow Scouts, my patrol,
my troop, and the world brotherhood of Scouting.
Scoutmaster: It is now my pleasant duty to present you with your
badge of office and your patrol flag. They signify that you are a leader
of Scouts in this troop. The success of the patrol is now in your hands.
I know that I can depend on you to do your part.
