Patrol Teams Active Get 'Im Up! Equipment: For each patrol, three Scout staves or poles; one 8-foot length of lashing rope, and one lO-foot length for suspending the Scout. Method: On signal, each patrol lashes the poles together with a tripod lashing, ties a bowline in the shorter rope, and passes the running or free end of the line over the top of the tripod. One Scout stands in the bowline, grasps the free end of the rope, and is lifted up. (On a slippery surface, one Scout may need to steady each stave.) Scoring: The first patrol with a Scout in the bowline with his weight fully supported by the tripod wins. |
